The wood in the background is a cypress knee from a Louisana bayou. The hen's egg is atop a piece of redwood from Muir Woods, just north of San Francisco CA. Later a funny thing happened. We had the ostrich and emu eggs on top of new Bose speakers on our mantel, and they both shattered when we played our stereo! mabou Mabou, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia: Folk music lovers, especially those fond of the Cape Breton style of Celtic music will immediately recognize the town name of Mabou. It is the home town of the Rankin Family. We stopped in at the Red Shoe Pub. When I took out my harmonica, it was not long before Greg Campbell, who has a farm in Mabou and who plays piano (sometimes locally with the Rankins) joined in with me for a jam. Greg also took us to see his farm and invited us to rent a cottage there sometime. campbellfarm rt-campbellfarm Ruth and I enjoyed the magnificent view.
