This brief slide show is of the mansions at Newport RI. The owners, the super-wealthy, referred to them as "summer cottages". Here we are, in 1978, along the Six-Mile Walk that passes behind all of the oceanfront cottages. The Walk was a WPA project, which is rather ironic, don't you think?
