Alps_from_Neuhausen  [10 of 43]

You can just make out the Alps in Central Switzerland from Neuhausen, which is in the north, a border town with Germany. In fact, Schaffhausen is the only Swiss canton that lies entirely north of the Rhein. That is a misfortune: On April 1, 1945 (no April Fool's joke) the US Army Air Corps bombed Schaffhausen, killing 15 people, because of the navigator's error. He thought they wer over Singen, a German city on the Rhein.
